Flowy Explained: Python-Native Workflow Engine

Many workflow tools run their nodes in JavaScript, define flows only in YAML, or keep collaboration behind an enterprise tier. Flowy is an open-source engine, native to Python, with a visual canvas, and no feature is held back for paying customers. Every node is Python, with the whole ecosystem available inside it. Add a decorator to a function and it becomes a node, its inputs and outputs typed from its hints.

They come built in, install from pip, or live in a local folder. Play the whole flow, or step through it one node at a time. Each one shows yellow while running, green when done and red if it fails, and you can retry just that step. Loops work too: for each, while a condition holds, or until it converges.

Role-based access, single sign-on, audit logs and sharing are there for every user from day one. So are the React Flow canvas, dashboards, Claude AI nodes, Docker containers and carbon impact tracking. Open source means open source. Flowy is for developers, AI practitioners, engineering teams and platform engineers who want visual workflows backed by real Python.
