We are at the Festival of Entrepreneurs in Hall 8 at the NEC Birmingham on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 November. It is free to attend, with around 200 speakers across five stages and more than 100 exhibitors. You will find us on stand C20 on both days, and our CEO, Chris Dean, joins a panel on the second morning.
This festival is for founders and business owners, so we are bringing the things we have built for them. Here is what to come and see.
Just Good Business
"Busy. But where's the profit? How do I grow? What are my options?" If you ask yourself those questions, this is the one to see. Just Good Business, powered by SOSX, maps your business and everything around it: customers, cashflow, staff, suppliers and competitors. It tests your cash and your growth options on your own numbers, and turns what it finds into a plan with names and dates. You make every call.
We will have an assessment on screen and the book on the stand. Bring a real business and a real question, such as what actually happens if your biggest customer walks tomorrow, and we will show you how it gets answered. You can also book a time to talk at the stand before you travel.
See the whole business, then decide what to change.
Explain My Pitch
Plenty of people at the Festival will be asking someone to say yes: an investor, a lender, a buyer or a judge. Explain My Pitch turns the pitch you have already written into a short, narrated, captioned explainer video, whether that is an idea, a sales proposal, a grant application, a business case, a competition entry or an investor deck. Send it ahead of the meeting, put it on the application, or share it after you speak.
Every word, number and chart on screen comes from your pitch, and nothing is made until you have approved the script. Videos start at £39 plus VAT.
On the stand we are also offering one free video per business, up to a minute long and made from your website, through its sister service Explain My Business. That offer ends at 23:59 UK time on Wednesday 4 November. Ask us about it when you visit.
SOSX
SOSX®: System-of-Systems for X is the platform underneath Just Good Business: AI-enabled systems thinking. Thirteen specialised AI agents research a broad question, map the systems behind it as one connected network and analyse it, with every claim sourced. The same engine runs in editions for investment, mentoring, research, engineering, utilities and circularity, and in Redstring for story worlds. If your question is bigger than one business, come and ask which edition fits.
Building an AI-enabled business
Chris joins the panel "Building an AI-enabled business" on Wednesday 4 November from 10:45 to 11:20 on the Tech, AI & Marketing stage. The organisers describe it as a discussion on integrating AI into workflows, improving decision-making and creating organisations that can adapt as technology evolves. Our stand is a short walk away, so come and carry on the conversation afterwards.
And the rest of what we do
Customer Compass, our AI decision agent for service businesses on Xero, is on the stand too. Behind the products sits the consultancy we have run since 2011: AI transformation and software engineering, with more than 170 client projects delivered. If you want help working out what AI should do in your business, or someone to build it, we would like to hear about it.
Passes are free from the Festival website, and the full agenda is online. We will see you on stand C20.
