Living Wage Map of Britain

Project Description

What is it?

The Living Wage Map of Britain is a pilot project currently focussed on Brighton and Hove illustrating businesses who have committed to paying the living wage and supporting the living wage campaign across the city.

It also allows businesses to promote themselves both locally and UK wide through a variety of exciting advertising and sponsorship opportunities.

Ultimately we are aiming to create a UK-wide illustration of the progress of the living wage campaign, plus localised segments such as this representing and promoting the areas where the campaign is active.

How does it help?

The Living Wage Map is a fun, sharable, interactive view of companies signed up to the Living Wage campaign; it is interesting to investigate (play with) for both business focussed individuals, schools studying the campaign from a political or citizenship point of view, and the general public.

The map is accessible on both desktop computers, tablet devices such as iPads and mobile phones; it can also be embedded into other websites, Facebook, news articles and other campaign pages.

The primary aim of the map is to encourage and enhance interaction with the Living Wage campaign online; increase awareness and recognition of the campaign through interaction and sharing of the map; to promote discussion of the Living Wage through social media channels; and to recognise and promote both the businesses and localities who have signed up as supporters.
